Permafrost outreach 2009
The University of Alaska EPSCoR program, NASA IPY and NSF IPY, Thermal State of Permafrost programs are conducting an outreach effort in conjunction with it's research focus on permafrost and infrastructure. The outreach effort has been termed the "Permafrost Health" program and consists of installing permafrost temperature monitoring systems!Sunday, December 14, 2008
Tunnel Man Series Episode 3 is approaching final editing! I can show you some of the snap shot. This episode talks about active layer and ecosystem. Active layer is seasonally freeze-thaw layer that affect soil moisture, type of vegetation, and so on. We have frost tube installed schools over the Alaska, Canada. This movie also shows how to install, to measure frost tube. Stay tune for watching this movie in holiday season!
