Permafrost outreach 2009
The University of Alaska EPSCoR program, NASA IPY and NSF IPY, Thermal State of Permafrost programs are conducting an outreach effort in conjunction with it's research focus on permafrost and infrastructure. The outreach effort has been termed the "Permafrost Health" program and consists of installing permafrost temperature monitoring systems!Sunday, February 25, 2007
Percussion drill
Percussion drill is one of the ideal drill head for portable drill system. We try to use heavy-duty electric percussion drill to apply permafrost drilling. In general, this works better than just rotation drill. But not super great system. We will need improve in a future.
